ख़ुदा हम को ऐसी ख़ुदाई न दे

कि अपने सिवा कुछ दिखाई न दे

May God never give us such divinity, that we cannot see anything other than over-selves

ख़ता-वार समझेगी दुनिया तुझे

अब इतनी ज़ियादा सफ़ाई न दे

The world will see you as the culprit, do not give this much explanation

हँसो आज इतना कि इस शोर में

सदा सिसकियों की सुनाई न दे

Laugh out so loud today so that in this tumult, the shout of groan does not get heard

ग़ुलामी को बरकत समझने लगें

असीरों को ऐसी रिहाई न दे

If they start understanding servitude as beneficence, please do not give such liberation to the prisoners

ख़ुदा ऐसे एहसास का नाम है

रहे सामने और दिखाई न दे

God is name of such a perception, where someone is in-front of you but not visible
